Predicto Names Top 6 Celebs to Watch in 2011
New York, NY (PRWEB) January 6, 2011
Since 2007, Predicto Mobile’s polls have asked people to vote on some of the hottest topics in pop culture – topics that often include some very buzz-worthy names. Last year, the popular text messaging service predicted six celebrities who would shine throughout 2010: Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Ke$ ha, Snooki, Lady Antebellum and Kellan Lutz. All six ended up generating major headlines, box office heat and prestigious award nominations. Now, Predicto sets its sights on which celebrities will be the newsmakers of 2011.
Emma Stone: This starlet made a name for herself in 2010, thanks to her breakthrough performance as a sassy, modern-day Hester Prynne in ‘Easy A’. That role snagged the 22- year old hosting duties on ‘Saturday Night Live’ (in which she hilariously lampooned starlet-in-decline Lindsay Lohan) as well as her first Golden Globe nomination. Next up is a role in the ‘Spider-Man’ reboot as Spidey’s first love, Gwen Stacey. If the online chatter surrounding the redhead’s decision to dye her hair blond for the role is any indication, Emma Stone will score herself an “easy A” on the A-list in 2011.
Donald Glover: The second star on this year’s list has also received buzz due to his part in the new ‘Spider-Man’ movie, but Donald Glover is best known for charming viewers on the NBC comedy ‘Community’. Glover went viral when earlier this year, fans created a campaign on Twitter to get him an audition for Peter Parker in the reboot. While the hashtag #donald4spiderman was Tweeted far and wide, and even gained support from Spider-Man creator Stan Lee, ultimately the role went to another actor. Even if he didn’t get that part, Glover’s comedy and rap skills should lead him to land his own showcase in the year ahead.
Blake Griffin: While Kobe Bryant and the Lakers have reigned supreme over the City of Angels for years, the upstart Clippers are gaining fans and respect thanks to the leadership and stellar play of their hyper-athletic power forward Blake Griffin. Selected first in the 2009 draft but sidelined by a pre-season injury his rookie year, Griffin has re-emerged this season and taken the NBA by storm. Although the Clippers won’t likely contend for the Finals this season, Griffin has thrilled those watching at Staples Center and on YouTube with his tremendous leaping ability and jaw-dropping slam dunks. This week fans embraced the announcement that he’ll compete in the All-Star Weekend’s dunk contest. In a few years, don’t be surprised if Griffin unseats Bryant as the king of L.A. basketball.
Willow Palin: 2010 was the year of Sarah Palin and her daughter Bristol. Both attracted major ratings and controversy on the reality TV shows ‘Sarah Palin’s Alaska’ and ‘Dancing with the Stars’. 2011 could see the rise of another Palin woman — 16-year-old Willow. She already has stirred up her own mini-tornado of media outrage due to a highly publicized Facebook rant. Palin’s not likely to record her own hit single like “Whip My Hair” singer Willow Smith, but count on the teen to continue voicing her opinions in 2011, and the media to follow every word
Ryan Leslie: You may not know his name, but you definitely know his music. This up and coming R&B producer has produced some of the biggest songs of the past few years, including tracks for Fabolous and Cassie. Last fall he made headlines of a different sort, when he offered a reward of one million dollars when his laptop went missing after a concert in Germany. Allegedly the computer contained the entirety of Leslie’s forthcoming album, ‘Les is More’. The laptop has been recovered and this talented multi-instrumentalist is back on track to become 2011’s kinder, gentler version of Kanye– including a more articulate Twitter feed.
Booboo Stewart: Boo who? Nope, we’re not talking about Yogi Bear’s sidekick. If you’re teenager, you’d already know that Stewart is the new Taylor Lautner. 16-year-old Booboo plays a young werewolf named Seth in the ‘Twilight’ movies, and if his ab-tastic photos are authentic, he’s been hitting the gym since his toddler years. The cherubic teen star is already getting his first hint of stardom, walking red carpet events and getting followed by paparazzi. With Team Edward and Jacob becoming pass
